The remake of 'Chashme Buddoor' is well on its way... Directed by David Dhawan, the new version of the classic 1981 romantic comedy stars Ali Zafar and 'Rang De Basanti' famed actor Siddharth in the lead.
While Ali Zafar is said to don the role of Farooq Sheikh from the original and Siddharth will play Ravi Baswani's character. The remake will also have Rishi Kapoor, Anupam Kher and Sonu Nigam. Talks are there that Dhawan has also planned to bring in Amitabh Bachchan in special role.
Incidentally, the film will be launch pad for popular south actress Tapsee, who will play Deepti Naval's role.
The film's shooting in going on full swing and currently the team is busy with the opening song where Zafar features as an item boy. Sources from the unit shared that the boys, Zafar and Siddharth, are having super fun and one can look forward to great moves from Zafar, who is usually known for his singing talent.
The older version 'Chashme Buddoor' is directed by Sai Paranjpye and the story is about three friends and how a girl changes their lives.
